Success is so often defined as having lots of money, lots of material objects and other people's good opinions. Success is what drives a person to work, dream and create. Success is not what everyone thinks it is.
For me, success is completing what I set out to do. It's about setting my sights on my goal and doing what I can to get there. I never beat myself up or put myself down when I don't achieve what I set out to do at a quick pace. I always allow myself to do what feels good. If I didn't do this, I would never get anything done.
I feel lucky to have a determination that is steadfast. When I'm passionate about something I stick at it until I'm happy with the result. If I'm not passionate about it, however, I often procrastinate. This can be most people's downfall. If we are not passionate about what we are doing, why would we stick at it?
Loving what we do is the point of life. If we don't like what we do, why do it? I know we have to pay the bills, but is it really worth it in the long run?
Trying something new may help you to find a new passion. We should try something new often because we never know if we're going to enjoy it.
Success is about feeling good. Not in an egotistical way, but from the heart. When we follow our dreams and keep going, no matter what tries to stop us, we will succeed.
Here is a photo of the back of my first novel The Deadliners. I feel huge success at managing to get it looking so great. I'm just happy to have got to this point and now I can share it with the world, I'm excited. Getting this far is success to me no matter what happens from now.
