I joined in with Nanowrimo this year. Which was funny considering I actually wrote 50k words in October too, but I managed to win in November too. After a few quieter, slower months in the summer, I really enjoyed getting stuck onto my writing again. I've missed it.
It's funny how artists go through different types of creative periods. I was worried earlier in the year because I really was struggling to get words down. Yet, after getting Leo done, I knew I had to do a new series. Something completely fresh and different to what I'd been working on for the last few years. For a start, my new series isn't romance! Can you believe it? It's really nice to try a genre I've never played in before. And, fingers crossed I've come up with something that's entertaining to read, but I'll let you be the judge of that.
Just last week I had surgery. It's been interesting because my wonderful friends have really stepped up to help me out during my recovery. I didn't know how long I would be out of action with writing, so I ended up almost completely Nano in the first 3 weeks! So, it really has proved to me that you never know what you can do until you put your mind to it. I'm not sure I could keep up at that pace, but it's been good to push myself in that way.
So, I'll let you know when the new series comes out at the end of December. My recovery is going well and fingers crossed I'll be out and about soon!
