My Writing Process
1) What am I working on?
I'm currently working on a dystopian short story series. It's called Avoidables. The first series will be free and there will be five episodes per series. Hope is an Avoidable. She has one arm and lives on the Lower side. When she meets Jason, a Perfect, he brings out the beautiful in her. Avoidables are people with imperfections, the Perfects are people without them. Hope vows to end the discrimination between the two sides.
I always have several ideas going around in my head, but I'm getting better at focusing on just one at a time.
2) How does my work differ from others of its genre?
My work differs because it's actually quite hard to define its genre. I like to write unique stories and sometimes it's hard to find just one specific genre that it fits in. My writing comes across as young adult, but many adults also enjoy it.
3) Why do I write what I do?
I remember reading as a teenager and finding hope in stories when I was surrounded by a desolate world. As a writer, I want to inspire and bring hope to others, especially the younger generations.
4) How does your writing process work?
I call myself a bit of a channel writer because I never plan a story. I might get a brief idea about what it's about, but I never know where it's going or how it will end until I get there. It's always a surprise to me when something happens in my stories. It's a natural, authentic way of writing for myself and it just seems to flow out of me.
