'This is good, Rachel,' she said as she put the printed sheets on the table.
'Really?' I said, trying not to let my jaw hit the ground. My friend was always going to be biased but she was also very honest. She'd let me know where there were mistakes and what could be made better, but in general, she'd liked it.
'Yes, you're very talented. I think you need to start paying attention to those reviews,' she said, smiling at me.
I grinned. Just remembering seeing the first five star review pop up on my book made me want to dance. In fact, I had danced. I'd jumped up and done a little jig, while singing...'I got my first five star review, yippee!'
'I've read your reviews and they're really quite good,' my friend said, shaking her head at me as I nodded in agreement.
'I'm so excited everytime I get a review. They're not all raving, but that's good. Not everyone is going to love my work. It's just amazing that people are taking the time to read my work at all. I'm so pleased that they can help me become a better writer by leaving a review.'
I seriously do love getting reviews and just wanted to say a massive thank you to all of you that have taken the time to read and review my work. I love writing. Seeing others enjoy reading my books just makes it all worthwhile. Writing is hard work. It takes a lot of time and effort, but it's always worth it in the end.
If you've read my work but not thought about leaving a review, or any other authors for that matter, then please do take a moment to leave one. It really helps writer's to grow and learn. It also gives us huge smiles when someone loves our work as much as we do.
Love Rachel x
