Review - A Thousand Boy Kisses by Tillie Cole

April 11, 2016

Emotional release is sometimes a good thing. I believe in having a good cry when you need one. Well, you're not going to have a choice when you read A Thousand Boy Kisses by Tillie Cole. It's not often I get jealous of another writers talent. But, I'm totally envious of how Tillie created this story.

Rune and Poppy are the young soulmates that everyone dreams to have in their lives. They meet, they love hard and fast, from the word go. At five years old. I mean, how romantic! From a few pages in, Poppy is already having a hard life lesson and the tears start to flow instantly.

I love how Tillie made Rune a Norweigen boy. It made it different and exotic. And his pet name for Poppy was stunning. I mean, there is no girl that won't fall in love with him. The way he loves Poppy so completely for so long is what we all wish for.

I'm sorry to say that this book is a complete tearjerker. I don't want to go into too much detail because I do feel it's a book to be read and savoured. I would advise that you have tissues ready from the word go. And, if you need to go anywhere important, don't read it the night before. You WILL wake up with swollen eyes from crying.

The ending...well, it's quite frankly beautiful. This is one of the best books I've read for a very very long time. I can see why it's getting so much hype. Well done, Tillie, from one indie author to another.
